0n the heels of its introduction of a countertop dishwasher (TWICE, September 21, p. 43), Equator will soon begin distributing its first line of full-size dishwashers.
The company initially plans a five-model line: two built-ins, with controls panels in black or white; and three "integrated" models (with black, white or stainless-less control panels) that can be mounted with wood front panels to match kitchen cabinetry.
Each Equator dishwasher features a stainless-steel interior and six wash programs controlled by a retractable push- pull knob. Lights indicate the end of the wash and rinse cycles. The units are said to handle up to 12 complete place settings at once.
Water usage is said to be just over 5 gallons in a 70-minute cycle, compared to 6 gallons in a 95-minute cycle for many other dishwashers.
The first five models, due in retail stores by mid-November, have suggested retail prices of $699 for the built-ins and $749 for the integrated dishwashers. Early next year Equator will add a built- in unit with stainless-steel control panel at $799 suggested retail.
A line of 18-inch slimline dishwashers with top-mounted controls, designed for use in bars and restaurants, is due later in the first quarter of next year. |
